Mary Kathleen Davis finds the framed motto in the back of a dusty antique shop, and it haunts her. After 26 years as the trophy wife of a powerful man, Mary is a widow with no sense of identity. She finds herself wondering ”what might have been,” and torments herself with guilt over her treatment of an old flame. She has the notion that if she can return to Paris with her increasingly distant daughter, perhaps she’ll be able to reconcile with the past and find a new future. The trip to Paris will change everything for these two women, in ways neither could imagine.
Left me hanging Good book with twists and turns. Will have to buy the sequel if there is one to find out what happens. Very interesting read.
Beautiful absolutely beautiful This book touched my heart and soul. Mary reminded me so much of myself. I have always lived the life everyone wanted me to live, until I decided to find me. Mary and Jean Luce David finding God and opening up their heart to Him is the same way I found answers to my questions.A book I know I’ll read many times.
Wonderful, fabulous, amazing story It really is that good! Honestly I could not put this book down. What a wonderful story and so beautifully written. I am drawn to mother daughter stories but this was exceptional. Stephanie Grace Whitson’s writing style is so easy and rich at the same time. I can’t wait to read more from her.
