From the New York Times best-selling author Lisa Scottoline comes a fast-paced, thrilling new audiobook.
Nobody cuts deeper than family….
Dr. Noah Alderman, a widower and single father, has remarried a wonderful woman, Maggie Ippolitti, and for the first time in a long time, he and his young son are happy. Despite her longing for the daughter she hasn’t seen since she was a baby, Maggie is happy too, and she’s even more overjoyed when she unexpectedly gets another chance to be a mother to the child she thought she’d lost forever, her only daughter Anna.Â
Maggie and Noah know that having Anna around will change their lives, but they would never have guessed that everything would go wrong, and so quickly. Anna turns out to be a gorgeous 17-year-old who balks at living under their rules, though Maggie, ecstatic to have her daughter back, ignores the red flags that hint at the trouble brewing in a once-perfect marriage and home.Â
Events take a heartbreaking turn when Anna is murdered and Noah is accused and tried for the heinous crime. Maggie must face not only the devastation of losing her daughter, but the realization that Anna’s murder may have been at the hands of a husband she loves. In the wake of this tragedy, new information drives Maggie to search for the truth, leading her to discover something darker than she could have ever imagined.Â
Riveting and disquieting, After Anna is a groundbreaking domestic thriller, as well as an audiobook of emotional justice and legal intrigue. And Lisa Scottoline will keep listeners hooked until the final shocking seconds.Â
Format difficult to follow 😞 The story line itself was good, but the format was choppy, and difficult to follow. There needed to be more of a storyline once Anna as rescued. This is actually the first of Lisa Scottolines books I felt disappointed in.
Scottoline has done it again! No surprise, Lisa Scottoline has done it again. I pre-order all her books without fail so that I can have it in my hands the day it’s released, and I clear my calendar because I know I am going to want to read it straight through. No surprise again, After Anna had me riveted from first page to last.We spend almost all of our time in the book with Noah, Maggie, Caleb and Anna. Except for Caleb, who’s 10 years old and what you see is what you get, you don’t know what the rest of…
Struggled to get through it The author is usually one of my favorites. The first 90% of this novel was so predictable and frustrating. In fairness, the frustrating part was the format. Since it was so predictable, I just wanted it to be sequential. If I was the kind of person who could start a book and not finish it, I would have. It felt like a chore. I did start skimming halfway through, just to get to the end. That last 10% got good, was actually a potential plot that I would have thoroughly enjoyed, but it was…
