Sold into slavery by her father and forsaken by the man she was supposed to marry, young Egyptian Kiya must serve a mistress who takes pleasure in her humiliation. When terrifying plagues strike Egypt, Kiya is in the middle of it all. Choosing to flee with the Hebrews, Kiya finds herself reliant on a strange God and drawn to a man who despises her people. With everything she’s ever known swept away and now facing the trials of the desert, will she turn back toward Egypt or surrender her life and her future to Yahweh?
Great Exodus Story If love Biblical historical fiction this book is for you. Although you know the story, looking into it from Kiya’s point of view gives you a front seat the wonder of the Exodus.
Enjoyed very much! I really enjoyed this book which was my first to read from this author. She did a great job of developing characters and I enjoyed the historical research that was evident in the book. The emotions of the characters were honest. The different perspective on the story held my interest all the way through to the end. I will look forward to reading more from her.
Thought provoking I probably would give this book 4 1/2 stars if I could. The story was excellent and we’ll written. It brought tears to my eyes several times and really fleshed out the story of the Exodus. But some of the account has me questioning the Biblical accuracy. Frozen water at the Red Sea? I immediately grabbed my Bible and read the Song of Moses in Exodus 15 and it says in verse 8 that the depths congealed in the heart of the sea. That’s NKJV. I checked the original Hebrew on Blue Letter Bible app…
