Sold into slavery by her father and forsaken by the man she was supposed to marry, young Egyptian Kiya must serve a mistress who takes pleasure in her humiliation. When terrifying plagues strike Egypt, Kiya is in the middle of it all. Choosing to flee with the Hebrews, Kiya finds herself reliant on a strange God and drawn to a man who despises her people. With everything she’s ever known swept away and now facing the trials of the desert, will she turn back toward Egypt or surrender her life and her future to Yahweh?
Realistic Bible fiction This was one of the most interesting and fascinating books I have read in a long time. I am a Catholic, and although this was a story about the Hebrews, I learned so much about the background to my own faith. It also brought to life the story of the Exodus from the Bible in a very realistic and believable way. I want to read more.
Great story…. I really enjoys this book a lot. I enjoy Biblical fiction if it stays true to the actual Biblical rendition. I was, however, disappointed in the ending of this book because it does not stay true to the story of Moses and how God gave the Hebrews instructions for living. I don’t understand why the author would stray so far.
Interesting View Of the Exodus Ms. Cassette has certainly taken an unique way of describing the Hebrew’s exodus from their 400 years of slavery in Egypt by following the journey through the life and eyes of a young Egyptian girl who is confronted with her previous beliefs and the belief in Yahweh. Well written. Sticks close to Biblical truth. Maintains an excellent story line.
