Best friends Annie and Sarah need cash – fast. Sarah, a beautiful, successful lawyer, wants nothing more than to have a baby. But balancing IVF treatments with a grueling eighty-hour workweek is no walk in the park. Meanwhile, Annie, a Harvard-grad chemist recently transplanted to Southern California, is cutting coupons to afford her young autistic son’s expensive therapy.

Desperate, the two friends come up with a brilliant plan: they’ll combine Sarah’s looks and Annie’s brains to sell a “luxury” antiaging face cream to the wealthy, fading beauties in Annie’s La Jolla book club. The scheme seems innocent enough, until Annie decides to add a special – and oh-so-illegal – ingredient that could bring their whole operation crashing to the ground.

Hilarious, intelligent, and warm, Crimes Against a Book Club is a delightful look at the lengths women will go to fend for their families and for one another.

  1. Crimes Against a book club I loved this story. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the book. The three main characters, Annie, Sarah and Chloe, are perfect. I can easily see this as a movie. Kathy Cooperman has a winner with this!

  2. The “Secret Ingredient” is… PEOPLE?! (Spoiler-free Review) I liked this one. Definitely more in the upbeat/humor department, so if that’s what you’re looking for, come here!

  3. I’m glad I took a chance on this one. I love the first of the month because it’s free book time from Kindle First. The selections this month were not really great for me personally but I chose this one because it sounded quirky and fun and I was in the mood for an easier read. I was pleasantly surprised! For a new author, the book is very well written and the characters are well drawn and relatable. Even though I do not have kids myself, it’s very easy to imagine the lengths a mother would go to for their child. I’d do the same as…
