Dark Descent tells the story of Joie Sanders, a bodyguard and Traian Trigovise, an ancient hunter, meeting after a battle in a deep cave filled with mystery and wonder. Set in the Carpathian Mountains, Joie, with her brother and sister go caving and come across the ancient warrior beset upon by several vampires. They have no choice but to throw their lot in with the hunter and do their best to escape with their lives from the underground labyrinth filled with ancient traps left behind by a powerful race.
Great story. I love Joie and how she finds … Great story. I love Joie and how she finds her man. Hope the others in the family will continue to show up in the series as well as all the characters so far. Each story is unique and interesting. Would love to see a TV series on this although the seduction scenes may not translate well to a television line as I am old school on how much activity is correct for viewing. But I love the read.
Ending too Abrupt!! I enjoyed the story, I thought it moved fairly fast for one of the Carpathian books. What happened at the end? I thought I had accidentally moved forward on the kindle. I went back and found, no I didn’t, it just ended. What the heck? What happened to the other characters in the book? I get they may be added to later on, but it was definitely a shock and disappointment when it just ended.
I WAS TOTALLY TURNED OFF BY THE NAMES AND FEMALE TRAIAN DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER. HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE THEIR NAMES…IS HERS PHONETICALLY JOEY? DON’T REAL NAMES EXIST ANYMORE? HOW ABOUT TREVER AND JOY??? ANYWAY, I USUALLY JUST LOVE CHRISTINE FEEHAN’S BOOKS BUT THIS ONE FALLS SHORT AND HE JUST DESERVED SO MUCH MORE IN A LIFEMATE…HE BROUGHT SO MUCH TO THE UNION AND SHE DID NOT. SHE ACTUALLY DID NOT WANT TO GIVE UP HER DAY JOB? OH WELL…GOOD THINGS FOR THE BINDING SPELL. WILL NOT BOTHER TO READ A SECOND TIME.Â
