For most, a plane crash means the end of life. For Dusti Dawson, it’s just the beginning…Dusti and her sister Batina survived the crash, thanks to a couple of brothers who are equal parts menacing and muscled. She’d be grateful…if they hadn’t turned out to be delusional kidnappers, who believe Dusti’s grandfather is some monstrous halfbreed creature bent on murder. Turns out Vampires, Lycans, and Gargoyles do exist – and they’ve been crossbreeding to form two hybrid races. Drantos, the man Dusti can’t stop lusting after, is one of the most dangerous of all.
VampLycans Drantos and Kraven were sent to eliminate a threat to their clan. But when that threat turns out to be mostly human women, clueless of their lineage, plans change – especially after Drantos gets a taste of Dusti’s blood. Now, he’ll die to protect her. Even if that means walking away from everything he knows to keep her at his side.
Is her strong desire for Drantos reason enough to endure danger coming from all sides? Or should Dusti cut and run the first chance she gets?
Author Note: VLG stands for Vampires, Lycans, Gargoyles…and breeds in between. Living in Alaska’s harsh, pristine territories, these creatures live and love fiercely. These are their stories.
Check your brain at the door, and you’ll be alright with this one. I have been avidly reading Laurann Dohner for the last 4 years.Â
Can you give up everything for one person? What a great first book in a new series. Dusti & her sister Batina are on the way to see their dying grandfather in Alaska but things don’t go according to plan, the plane crashes and two strange men save them. Dusti can’t believe that she is been told by Drantos that he is a vamplycan and that she needs to come with him before her grandfather gets there. Has this guy lost his mind who believes these stories anyway? He needs to prove to her that she is safe with him and that her sister Bat will…
Pleasant surprise and I loved it!! I have to admit, when it comes to paranormal romance, I’m not a fan of all the offshoots as of late with werebears, dragons and everything else in between. When I came across this as a featured book in a paranormal book club, I almost passed on it. Instead, I went back to reread the synopsis again and thought, “Why the hell not? At least the storyline is interesting and I’m not dealing with bears and dragons.”Â
