Didn’t care to finish it Spoilers: I hoped this story would contain a smart, well executed revenge plot. From the beginning the girl looses control of the situation and the bad guy continues to rack up kills while perfectly capable sit by and watch. I cringed at the use of LOL and ROTFL by a character who is supposed to be a well practiced serial killer. The idea has great potential, but the story and execution were terrible.
Short, but full of excitement It was above average – but it had many plot holes. Expect to spend about 2-hours reading this, it’s quite short. That isn’t a good thing or a bad thing, it just is. The best thing about this novel is that it is almost 100% non-stop action. From the first few pages until the end, it’s full of action. This is also the problem with the book. You really don’t know much about the characters, the setting, or the back story.Â
This is one I couldn’t stomach to read past a couple of chapters. While the Purge of Babylon series is really enjoyable, and I binged on the first eight books, I cannot say the same for this series. I found the first book so bad I stopped reading it. I found the characters extremely shallow and the story to feel glossed over. It reminded me of watching a horror movie and yelling at the victim, “Don’t do that! Its so obvious you will die if you do that!”, but they do it anyways. The writing seems like it is geared for pre-teens with little or no depth…
