Last Dragon Standing: Heartstrikers, Book 5

Dear Listener,

There is no way to write a blurb for this final book without spoiling all of the others. Suffice it to say, mysteries resolve, dragons war, pigeons abound, and Julius must risk himself in ways he never dreamed possible as Bob’s grand plan finally comes to fruition.

But the Great Seer of the Heartstrikers isn’t the only one whose schemes are nearing completion. The Nameless End is coming, and even the machinations of the world’s most brilliant dragon seer might not be enough to stop it. As the world comes crashing down, it’s up Julius to prove what he’s always known: that seers can be wrong, and Nice Dragons don’t always finish last.

  1. A superb ending to a sublime series It’s over. I’ve read Rachel Aaron’s Last Dragon Standing (fifth and final in her Heartstrikers series) twice since getting it and read – no savored – the last chapter and a half another couple of times. It’s just. that. darn. great.Julius, the Nice Dragon (though he will get a more suitable title by the end – no I’m not tellin’ ya it) has always been a favorite character of mine and Marci Novalli, the Merlin (newcomers: think of this as a super-mage who gets to pair up with a…

  2. 4.5 stars — a wonderful conclusion to the series! I’m giving this final volume 4.5 stars, holding back just that last smidge because seeing possible futures has the same confusing edge as time *travel*. I’m pretty sure Ms. Aaron tied everything together well, though, in some clever ways. It’s surely not a surprise for me to say that Julius’s hopes for defeating the Nameless End, i.e., the end of everything in his whole plane of existence, revolve around convincing a wide variety of people (by which I mean to include beings of…

  3. I love Heartstrikers series And so the journey ends.I love Heartstrikers series. It’s a gem. Huge scale and epic events are pictured in a clever way and shown through eyes of relatable characters. I like most dragons pictured in the book. Even Bethesda. Yes. Even her.Brohomir (aka Bob) is one of my favorite characters ever. He is a genius and he has a plan. He might win a game of chess with Lord Vetinari guys and no one does this. I always considered the series to be about Bob and his machinations…
