Like a gritty episode of The Rockford Files This is a smart cohesive mystery, with a few gritty moments. It follows a logical, believable path and is tightly written with little meandering. The ending is terrific and everything is wrapped up with no loose ends.Â
SUCH, good writing!!! There is already a detailed 5 star review written for this book, with a ton of votes, so I will keep mine shorter. I wanted to write a review, however, because I absolutely LOVED this book. Yes, I loved the plot and characters, but if any one thing had me hooked it was the quality of writing. This author’s voice is so enjoyable, and mixed with the characters, I can honestly say it made for the most enjoyable read I’ve had all year.Â
Promising new series, would recommend this to fans of mystery and crime novels. For the first time in months I actually had some difficulty choosing a Kindle First selection because there was more than one that interested me, instead of them all looking so boring I wouldn’t read them if you paid me. Firstly, this is book one in a series that book two will not be released until next year and I’m not a patient person. Secondly, it had Dead in the title…
