He doesn’t agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool’s errand he doesn’t expect to ever return from.   1. It’s a Great Read! After being sent err stationed by Columbus Day, I had to read Spec Ops, and I found it to be just as entertaining as Columbus Day. Unlike many sci-fi authors, Craig Alanson does an excellent job of incorporating humor into his serious stories. With a storyline that keeps the reader wanting to find out what is going to happen next, I found myself rushing through the book. If someone wants a story that entertains without becoming too unrealistic, I would highly recommend Alanson’s books…

  2. Good Read!! I stumbled upon the first book in this series by accident. The first chapter or two I was questionable about the book then it took off. Fortunately this book came out a few days after I finished the first one. In my opinion this one took off from the very beginning. Very Good read. Kept me interested from the very beginning. ‘Skippy’s’ snarkiness is great throughout the book. Very worthwhile. Really looking forward to book 3.

  3. Slow plot progression with typos, but absurdly funny and with no DRM. I recommend it anyway. I am giving this book an excellent review, although it is rife with typos. The plot is simple(ish) and the writing style bizarre, but the characters are hilarious and the book has no DRM. I will warn that many tropes are used (although I personally don’t mind much), the biggest being that the AI is nearly all-powerful.
