Summer with a Star: Second Chances, Book 1

All Tasha Pike has wanted for the past 20 years is to rent Sand Dollar Point for a summer. The grand Victorian on the beach of Summerbury, Maine was the object of her childhood fantasy and her standard of romance – and it was finally happening. Her dream summer is ruined, however, when she arrives in Summerbury to find that Hollywood superstar Spencer Ellis has muscled his way into the house instead. His offer that they share Sand Dollar Point is not only infuriating – it’s insulting.

He’s a celebrity, and one she’s determined to hate.

Spencer’s summer in Maine was supposed to help him get his head screwed on straight. One look at Tasha, however, made that impossible. She’s beautiful. She’s angry. She doesn’t care who he is. She doesn’t care about his fame. In fact, she doesn’t even like him.

She’s irresistible.

He’s only got the summer. She’s only got her heart. They’ve only got each other.

  1. Rated R It started out a sweet story with a few sexual innuendos and some profanity, Then the explicit sex scene…not my cup of tea, and I’m surprised other reviewers had not pointed that out. I did not finish the book; besides the sex, the story was weak, the editing was weak (example: don for don’t). I am submitting this review for those who don’t like to read books with an R rating. (Too bad books don’t actually have a rating system.)

  2. Sweet summer read. I always love when a ‘plain Jane’ meets a hot celebrity and I think this book worked for me. Tasha, a teacher, has spent 20 years saving up to spend her summer at the beach house she has always dreamed of and when Spencer, the hottie, is there occupying her house, she is definitely thrown for a loop. Tasha and Spencer were certainly opposites in every way and when they found themselves sharing a beach house for the summer, you can tell they really have more in common than they thought…

  3. Just not for me The story in itself sounded good. But I must admit that I got pretty tired of Tasha’s issues and insecurities. They were simply too much and the her inner dialogue dragged on and on. I don’t like to give bad reviews, but I got irritated with the story’s heroine. Sorry!!
