Roller Coaster Excitement Roller coaster ride of an apocalyptic tale. Take a little mythology, a bit of science and toss with a big bunch of adventure. A beautiful scientist is trying to save the children but winds up trying to save humanity. This is the first of a trilogy and I couldn’t wait to get to the last book. It gets a bit far-fetched at times but then that’s the fun of it. And it probably didn’t help that I had a raging bronchial infection while reading about the billions dying of a killer bug.
I really wanted to enjoy this book I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I felt as though there were too many backstories, and too many plot twists. By the time I had read half of the novel, there were so many unfinished ideas that I was exhausted. I kept waiting for a thought to be completed, or some sort of idea to be connected with something else, but kept growing increasingly frustrated with how bigger and bigger ideas were being introduced without really fitting in with one another. I rarely give up entirely on books, but…
