  1. Wanted to experience the fun again (and did ) Appreciated the additional exposition provided by the novelization. There were a number of sequences not presented in the film itself.I had purchased the book in hopes that would be the case.

  2. A good preview of the film, but sparse on extra detail Back when the prequel Star Wars trilogy was coming out, I made sure to always read the novelizations of the novel before seeing the movie. I found that it enhanced the story in a lot of ways. First, it gave better motivations to the characters. Second, it helped fill in the backstory, making the film’s plots more cohesive. Also, since I could get the books more easily than going to the theater, I could relive the story over and over. 

  3. Lots of detail in the book, no backstory I’m only partially into reading this book, but I feel that I have to comment. I’ve seen the movie, and even in the first few chapters the book offers a ton of extra details. Things that move quickly in the movie are explained in far greater detail, even if we hear little of what the characters think. So far I have no problem with the writing. What there is little to none of is backstory. I assume that this is a decision that was made at the top. It seems that the powers that be want the…
