Missing the electricity! Had this been the release of a 4th novel by Steig Larsson about Lisbeth Salander, I would have been beside myself with anticipation and excitement. As it was, I approached this read with a bit of trepidation but open interest. The story is good and it makes a credible (enough) fast paced suspense novel. A BEFITTING TRIBUTE TO STIEG LARSSON! It is difficult to assess a book when there is a lot of expectation. Moreso, when it is a continuation of a series by another author. It is a fact that David Lagercrantz is no Stieg Larsson but as a writer Lagercrantz has also made a name for himself. But all his fame and name would mean nothing if he lost the plot. And in agreeing to continue the Millennium series, Lagercrantz no doubt took the gamble of his life. And what a gamble it was!Â
