Captain Jason Burke is a man apart, and not just because he’s the only of his kind for thousands of light-years in any direction. The changes to his body and to his genetic code have made him faster, stronger, more able to survive in his dangerous occupation…but they’ve also ensured that he’ll never truly fit in with others of his species. He always assumed he would live and die with his crew and never lay eyes on another human again. He was wrong.

The mercenary captain learns through back-channel information that Earth may be in danger and, worse, that he may have been a contributing factor. He now faces the choice of ignoring the problem and allowing his own species to fight their own battles or returning to help and risk making the situation worse. Can he just sit idly by while his species faces such a dire threat?

  1. Takes Me Away Just Sitting in My Recliner I’m enjoying the full series of 8 so far. Waiting for # 9.I enjoy the digs/burns between the characters as it makes it more like everyday living, at least in my world. I think it’s great writing and a more sophisticated sci-fi than many. Keep them coming if your imagination can stretch without you becoming bored. Once you become bored, so will your fans. Thanks for being so good at your craft Mr. Dalzelle….keep up the good works!

  2. Another great read! This series has been a great read all the way through. Great characters, good story lines, best of all, it’s well edited and consistent. I know, that shouldn’t be a big deal but it’s funny how many books out there now days aren’t. They don’t even follow their own rules sometimes. In one case I read where a ship could traverse the solar system in an hour by traveling at ten thousand miles an hour… I didn’t read any further.

  3. Home again Well, despite promises that we would never see earth again, the Omega force has to rescue earth from some opportunistic aliens. Jason is still having problems with his girl friends, Mr Dalzelle forgot he broke the Phoenix, and didn’t fix it before flying out to space. There’s a new character introduced that will probably really create interpersonal friction and strife. We’re still trying and . . ., and there are some gross editing errors. The book doesn’t seem rushed, but the editing errors…
