I wanted to like it, but I just didn’t like the main characters After loving Denise Grover Swank’s, The Substitute, I eagerly started reading The Player, but could not get into it. I know Blair has her trust issues and strikes out at people to protect herself, but I couldn’t figure out why her friends liked her so much and why Garrett never stopped loving her. I just didn’t find anything redeeming about either of the main characters…I kept forcing myself to read…
Cousins Garret and Neil fight over Blair This second book of The Wedding Pact series brings attorney Blair Hansen together with her ex-boyfriend attorney Garret Lowry in Phoenix as they are each on their way to Kansas City. The Player – Another great book from Denise!!! Denise gives us the second installment to the Wedding Pact series and it doesn’t disappoint! Just like The Substitute, this book was a fast paced read full of characters you fall in love with (Garrett and Blair), some you want to push off a cliff (Neil), those you already love (Megan, Josh and Libby) and the ever spunky grandmother (Nana Ruby). Even Knickers and Gram make an appearance!Â
