When Katy Logan moves her troubled teen daughter Jett to the Appalachian community of Solom, she envisions a peaceful rural lifestyle on her new husband’s farm.
There’s more to Solom than she ever imagined. Gordon Smith’s first wife Rebecca died under mysterious circumstances, and Katy believes her spirit is still in the house. Gordon’s great-grandfather was a horseback preacher who vanished while on a mission one wintry night, and local lore holds that he returns from time to time seeking vengeance. Gordon teases Katy and Jett with a story about a wicked scarecrow that comes in from the fields at night to slake an unnatural thirst.
When the legends come to life, Katy and Jett discover the Smith family secrets cut deep. And they must face the supernatural menace together or become part of Solom’s legends forever.
Terrible book It’s the same thing repeated every single chapter literally every timeThe wife- complaining about the daughter using drugs, worried about cooking badly or not having sex yet with her husbandThe daughter- every chapter it’s just her saying how big of a drug addict she was or how she’s scared about the goatsIf I had this as a book instead of on my kindle I would have ripped it in halfWorst book I read in years
Suspenseful and spooky! This is the kind of book that you wish you could read during an awesome thunderstorm, curled up with a cup of cocoa. I could not put the book down. I’ve always though scarecrows were spooky, and Nicholson does not disappoint. The characters are believable, and the folklore behind the story is amazing. I cannot wait to get the second part!
A Haunting Tale You Won’t Forget! Solom: The Scarecrow is haunting and pulls you in immediately and stays with you long after you put it down. The story is not only one of sleepy town legends but one of family and the mistakes they make.Â
