The Tao of Seneca (volumes 1-3) is an introduction to Stoic philosophy through the words of Seneca. If you study Seneca, you’ll be in good company. He was popular with the educated elite of the Greco-Roman Empire, but Thomas Jefferson also had Seneca on his bedside table. Thought leaders in Silicon Valley tout the benefits of Stoicism, and NFL management, coaches, and players alike – from teams such as the Patriots and Seahawks – have embraced it because the principles make them better competitors. Stoicism is a no-nonsense philosophical system designed to produce dramatic real-world effects. Think of it as an ideal operating system for thriving in high-stress environments. This is your guide.
Unprofessional Terrible audio quality. Content is great, of course, and the narrator is good. But this is ruined by truly bad audio. Stay away.
I would not recommend this item Purchased through Audible. I had high hopes for this recording based on Tim Ferris’ involvement and recommendations. There are several technical glitches (garbled sections, echos, repeated segments) in Chapter 2 that I had to contact Audible tech support. After several rounds of settings changing, deleting and re-downloading, to no avail, I had to request a refund. A tweet to Mr. Ferris (apparently the only way to try to reach him and/or his team?) went unheeded. As for the recording itself, it…
Buggy and sub par narration The audio quality is horrible. Every few minutes there is a scratchy echo that is rather irritating. They must have been in a rush to get this out before properly testing it. Additionally, the narrators tone and diction seems rather forced and affected. I listen to many podcasts and audiobooks and this is one of the least enjoyable spoken word voices I have ever heard. I will try and get a refund from audible/Amazon and read the books instead.
