Sorcery and shape shifting, yes please! Loved these books! They were a fun read for sure. I’m not a gamer but I really enjoyed all the nerd/gamer references. The sorcery and shape-shifter line was great. These books reminded me a little of the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurel K. Hamilton – only less intense and without the sexual content.
Highly recommended for fans of the genre I’m not a huge reader of light fantasy any more. The descent of Charlaine Harris and Laurel K. Hamilton into the porn sphere really turned me off and since many authors followed their lead, I pretty much gave up on it. Now if I’m going to read fantasy it will usually be someone like Daniel O’Malley or Ben Aaronovitch. But I’ve stumbled on a couple of new writers recently who give me hope for the genre. I found Melissa F. Olson through Kindle First (her second…
