I miss his unique insight David Sedaris is one of my favorite authors because of how observant, introspective, honestly self-deprecating, and insightful he is while he relates his life experiences. His stories are usually hilarious even when the themes of his essays are sentimemtal or sad because of his personal insight and reflection. None of this is present here. The days and nights of the funniest man alive…in living color I’ve always believed one should add in plenty of frivolity and humor into the mix of favorite things to read. This book is a feast for we frivolous ones who like a good laugh occasionally. I do believe David Sedaris is the funniest man alive and this is his best book yet. And if that were not enough– volume 2 is yet to come and I’ll pre-order that one as I did this one.Â
