“The only thing that separates the you today from the new and powerful you that’s meant to be is the step that your heart is begging you to take.” From the Book of Szen If you’re looking for something different that’s fun, easy to read and inspirational too, this is the book for you. The Book of Szen is a compilation of stand-alone stories and observations that celebrate the power in each of us to create positive change in our lives, to be what we want to be. Whereas Zen speaks of the moment and what is, the Book of Szen reflects on what could be. Essentially, it is not a “how-to” book, but a “why not” book. It’s a down-to-earth collection that includes simple anecdotes and short stories that encourage us to reach our sometimes forgotten voice, a voice that yearns for a better life. You’ll find that the Book of Szen is sensitive to life and is as easy to relate to, as it is to read. The most common feedback I’ve received from readers over the years is that they felt that the Book was speaking to them directly about exactly what they needed to hear at the time. Here’s what readers of THE BOOK OF SZEN have to say: “Always a treat a comfort and a pleasure to read and reflect on your words. Thank you for being a bright, shiny light in the dark.” Karine Gris – Paris France “Your words fell on a good place today.” Dan Sullivan – Dallas, TX “You are a positive force in many people’s lives. Keep going.” Michael Willner – Irvine, CA “How beautiful. You touch so many.” Jane Gibb – Huntington Beach, CA “You are too darn funny!! I adore your writings.” Reba Kingston – Atlanta, GA “Congratulations on your epic book!! . . . it is very enlightening!” Ryan Graeff – New York, NY To receive new weekly Book of Szen stories for free go to www.bookofszen.com
It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that was more enjoyable then the book of szen. It made me laugh and it made me think about my life and whats important to me. I especially love the fact that you can read for 5 minutes or for hours. Its written in such a way as to be flexible to whatever free time you have. I hope Gary writes anoher book soon. I will but it.J.F.
The “Why Not” Of Inspiration If you are looking for another book of instructions on how to live your life, you’ll probably want to pass on this book. Although it does have some suggestions in it, it’s definitely not a blueprint or step by step guide on how to live your life. That doesn’t make it less valuable. After all, the author says it’s not a how to book; it’s a why not book, and he’s absolutely right. To be honest with you, it reminded me of one of my all time favorite inspirational books . In that book, the author uses stories to teach life lessons, as well as inspire us to live a great life. This book does that, and then it goes way beyond that with the author’s own little spin on the philosophy of Zen. You will be inspired, but you’ll avoid some of the “circular speak” I’ve found in Zen that made it confusing. This book does, however, do far more…
