A heavy emphasis is placed on the notion that behavior in the workplace is determined by a mix of factors, many of which are not treated in texts on work motivation (such as frustration and violence, power, love, and sex). Good book but maybe too much for undergrad psychology I used this book for my undergraduate psychology class on work motivation (related to industrial-organizational psychology). It’s actually an excellent book, but it’s VERY DENSE, in a good way, but at times is difficult to maintain a focus on. This almost seems more like a graduate level book. a comprehensive, high-level motivation text I am using this book for an undergraduate seminar in organizational psychology that focuses on job satisfaction and work motivation. This book is really too much for my undergraduates, who are not used to making sense of conflicting findings. But I gave it 5 stars because it is far and away the most comprehensive text on work motivation on the planet (and beyond).
