We don’t stumble accidentally into an amazing life. It takes a conscious commitment to figuring out what we stand for – finding our truth. It begins by looking inside ourselves, because when it rises from within, we have no choice but to express it, to live it. That is when magic happens: fulfillment, happiness, relationships and success.
The question is: How?
With meditations on love, healing, entrepreneurship, overcoming failure, vulnerability, fear, the nature of the mind and the rhythm of life, Live Your Truth is a guide to this crucial journey of self-exploration and personal discovery. The follow up to his runaway bestseller Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It, Kamal Ravikant takes you on his journey, in the hope that it will help you find your truth and inspire you to live it. Prepare to be your best self.
I accept Kamal’s Invitation Kamal’s first book came to me at exactly the time I needed it. Now a best seller, “Love Yourself Life Like Your Life Depends On It”, reminded me of the most important truth: that healing and growth can’t happen if I don’t start at the beginning, with loving myself. “Live your Truth” is an invitation to go deeper, and one that I am happy to accept. The book starts with the author taking us with him to a retreat in Southern California were he plans to spend some time alone, meditating, away from electronics, and reflecting. Already I can relate. He then offers brief chapters with insights he gets, like: “What is the point of it all? You are”, or “Peace is knowing that the maze the mind plays is not the truth”.Along side his reflections there are stories he has drawn from the world. For example, when he says he read “Power of Now” and could not finish it, but he was startled by the first page, where Tolle, as he was having a breakdown, heard a voice telling…
Sometimes we almost miss the best advice. I had been struggling at a threshold. My business had started turning a profit, along with several offers and partnerships to scale things up.However, I felt an intense embarrassment and resistance toward the growth.Noise clouded my judgment:What if I get stuck in this business for years? Is this selling myself short?Am I smart enough to move on to execute on larger ideas? Is pursuing a small, “win” foolish?Through the noise, I saw Kamal had just published a new book, “Live Your Truth.”I bought it, and read it in a single sitting. When an author leaves out the usual 90 pages of lead up/please hire me to speak, they respect their reader.Respect of the reader is a powerful signaling mechanism of value in writing.Kamal respects the reader, and delivers tremendously. No filler whatsoever. If a book is really valuable, you’ll want to read it…
The truth will set you free I am currently going through a divorce and in this process it makes you question everything about yourself. This book was the medicine I needed, the pages that made me not feel alone and more alive. This book exudes love. The author takes a big leap forward from his last amazing book. I applaud him for laying it out there at the risk of what other people may say. By doing that, it reminded me everyone fears being their true authentic self. However, when you take that jump, the world that opens up to you is endless. In the beginning it made me cry and in the end it made me cry again, but they were tears of happiness. Tears of relating to every word. If there is one thing that stood out to me it is that you begin to realize how little you really need and how the only thing we need to be in charge of carrying is our thoughts. It made me wonder if I can sit in silence in the middle of nowhere and find myself. I really do not know… The one thing I can say…
