Prentice Mulford was instrumental in the founding of the popular philosophy New Thought, along with other notable writers including Ralph Waldo Emerson.

New Thought is a set of metaphysical beliefs concerning the effects of positive thinking, the law of attraction, healing, life force, creative visualization, and personal power. It promotes the ideas that “Infinite Intelligence” or “God” is omnipresent, spirit is the totality of real things, true human selfhood is divine, divine thought is a force for good, sickness often originates in the mind, and ‘right thinking’ has a healing effect.

Mulford’s books THOUGHTS ARE THINGS and THE GOD IN YOU served as a guide to this new belief system and are still popular today.

  1. invaluable Invaluable,This book is a must read, It is imperative that ancient wisdom, truth and knowledge, which has becomeout of vogue for today’s superficial society, such as that which is found in this book be rediscovered. The human race is facing it’s own self-made extinction. It is imperative that we learn, change andgrow or die.I highly reccomend this book as a must read for self-knowledge, wisdom and growth.Thank you for offering it to me.Sincerely,Cheryl L. Theriot

  2. understand how thought works Highly recommended for anyone wanting to read and understand more about the power of our thoughts and how and why what we think manifests in our bodies and circumstances. Explaining how the state of our minds are creative forces. Stimulating, energising and uplifting are words I would use to describe the author’s writing style and content of this book.He was also way ahead of his time, explaining occasionally why we should be looking after our planet and it’s beautiful creatures; that zoos and caging animals is barbaric; that trees are to be loved not carelessly cut down – and thus we show we love ourselves, and help ourselves to advance towards the dominion we are meant to have.
