… it 3 out of 5 stars solely because its best to have read many of Lewis works in order … Very thorough but I gave it 4 out of 5 stars solely because its best to have read many of Lewis works in order to understand and identify what he is writing or detailing… While the quotes are very interesting and deep, many require one to reach its original source volume and comprehend the quote in context. Otherwise, a nice, giant compendium of quotes.
Great Resource For Reference I purchased this book specifically for reference work for a manuscript I hope to actually work on one day. The book came undamaged and in excellent condition. The book is rather thick and bulky but it is an exhaustive reference of the best quotes from the master of literature himself, C.S. Lewis. I find myself looking something up for reference but becoming mesmerized by the poetic and artistic prose of this great writer. An Excellent Tool Not only is this book an excellent resource for Christian speakers/preachers/etc., but it can also be of usefulness an individual’s personal life by offering words on joy, peace, death, etc. The quotes are topically organized, and the references back to the original works are very helpful when you can’t quite remember exactly which book contains that C.S.
