Divinely inspired verses and spiritual words of empowerment are purposely placed to speak to the very issues that most people face. From the babe in Christ (beginner) to the seasoned prayer warrior this book equips you with a dialog to express to our Creator. In unison we pray that this spiritual exercise will enhance your spiritual life and empower your daily life. So go forth and prosper and may God’s Holy Spirit rest and abide in you.
Blessed Are You: Finding Inspiration from Our Sisters in Faith
Melanie Rigney uses stories of the saints, our sisters in faith, to help readers grow in their spiritual lives. Some of these saints are familiar—Teresa of Avila, Catherine of Siena, Bernadette of Lourdes, Elizabeth Ann Seton—while others are not so well known—Maria Karlowska, Claudine Thevenet, Josephine Bakhita, Elizabeth of Portugal. They come from different places and different times, creating an intimate portrait of the universal Church. Yet the lives of each of these women illustrate the qualities of the Beatitudes—what the Catechism of the Catholic Church calls “the heart of Jesus’s preaching” (1716)—in a down-to-earth and human way. Through the lives of these exemplary women saints and the qualities they espouse—meekness, mourning, poverty of spirit, justice, mercy, purity of heart, peace, righteousness—women will find ways to live more fully the Gospel values of Christian life.
I Am Blessed: A Collection Of Faith-based Prayers And Affirmations
Thank you for choosing to read my book, I Am Blessed: A Collection of Faith-Based Prayers and Affirmations. I am so blessed that we have been brought together in this time and place. I’ve written a collection of prayers and matching affirmations. Each begins with the positive action statement, “I am blessed.”
I believe very strongly in the power of prayer. I see it as a direct connection to God. I believe God is the creator of all that exists. I believe the Holy Spirit dwells within me. I believe Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I believe angels are the messengers of God. I believe in free will. I believe my prayers are heard. I believe the Bible to be true.
I also believe in the power of affirmations as a tool to create positive change in my life. What I believe I am-good or bad-is what I become. It is a process, but it is so worth it to take ownership of my life in this way.
In this book, I have repeated each affirmation three times. I find it is a great way to imprint them into my memory. I believe that praying with them is divine reinforcement.
