Inspiration from a Mountaintop

This book is the personal story of Young Sun Hahn, from her birth and growing up in Korea during the subjection of that country to Japanese rule, through World War II and the time of the Korean War which followed, and includes her coming to the United States and her life there. It begins with the amazing work of her parents and all her family as they established an orphanage on a mountaintop for the many children abandoned during Korea’s difficult years of occupation and war. It is a story of great courage and Christian witness and service to the orphaned children and communities of those places that continues through the joys and challenges of the writer’s subsequent life in America. Young Sun’s faith in God’s support and blessings moved her to seek her graduate studies in Social Work at American universities. Help from her close and extended family members as well as compassionate Americans provided assistance at many crucial moments. Gradually, along with her own faith journey, she gathered into this compelling book the essence of the inspiration from the legacy of that Korean mountaintop where her life and faith in God began.
