Lee discovers that the murderer is an expert in a forbidden Chinese martial art – the dark mirror to his own healing practices – and joins in the hunt for the killer to escape his own inner demons and save the woman he loves.
A real talent here – esp great at writing tastefully about sex This is an excellent book with a decent plot and wonderful characterisation. Like all good books, it tells you something about a world most of us don’t know about – Chinese martial arts and medicine – but without bludgeoning you with overwhelming detail. I was particularly happy to read a book which treated sex in an adult way (meaning grownup as opposed to overgrown juvenile) indicating rather than describing in sweaty detail the relationship between the main character and his girlfriend,…
Most excellent! A most excellent mystery! I’ve always liked stories that include Chinese culture. This was a great adventure with plenty of Tai Chi Chuan fighting. I loved the story, the action, the characters and the sharp wit of Randall Lee. The only character with comparable wit is Robert B. Parker’s Spenser.
I’ll stand in place all day for the next Randall Lee Mystery This author came highly recommended by someone who knows I love a good mystery, witty conversation, and expanding my horizons. I read the story in one sitting and enjoyed every minute, so I wholeheartedly second his recommendation.Â
