Dear Madam President is an empowering letter from former Hillary Clinton Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri to the first woman president, and by extension, to all women working to succeed in any field. By using lessons learned during her experiences with Hillary Clinton, President Obama, and Elizabeth Edwards – to name a few – Palmieri through each chapter creates a forward-thinking framework of inspirational and practical advice for all women everywhere – from boardrooms to living rooms – who are determined to seize control of their lives, their workplaces, and their country. Dear Madam President will turn the results of the 2016 election into something incredibly empowering for future female leaders and independent thinkers everywhere.

As a country, we haven’t wrapped our heads around what it should look like for a woman to be in the job of President. Our only models are men. This of course was seen during the Hillary Clinton campaign, and no one knows this better than Jennifer Palmieri. While wildly disappointed by the outcome of the election, Palmieri optimistically argues in the book that the Clinton candidacy and all she experienced on the campaign trail – confusion, admiration, hate, love, acceptance, rejection – can now open the country up to reimagining women in leadership roles. And that is what Palmieri takes on in this book – redefining expectations for women looking to lead and creating a blueprint for women candidates and leaders to follow.

The New is Born with Great Labor I sent a little note to Hillary Clinton after the election to say that she must not feel despair–how could she possibly be expected to win at the last stand of white male privilege—this book offers a similar insight. I know some will say it is an excuse of some kind, but as Palmieri notes, the”times they are a changing” and the pain. gloom, and dislocation only verify the dying of an old order and the struggle to bring a new way of beinginto the world. If you are…

  2. Fabulous…..honest, inspiring, unique!! Read this book after watching the author interviewed on MSNBC Rachel Maddow show. I read in one sitting! I hope it is the first of many books that will be written by Jennifer Palmieri. I love the conversational style of her writing style. I enjoyed hearing about Obama’s leadership style and Hillary Clinton’s management style and what life was like on the inside. Palmieri is transparent, vulnerable, and does NOT sugar coat anything. Most important to me….is the message and encouragement…

  3. A far too short burst of energy, insight & inspiration I think Jennifer Palmieri has more stories to tell and I hope she gives us more books filled with them and additional insights. In ‘Dear Madame President’ she isn’t interested in divulging tales so much as bluntly describing the reality of the reactions to Women’s leadership. She says “Women are particularly uneasy with drawing fire…Which is too bad. Because nothing draws fire like a woman moving forward.”Of Hillary Clinton she says: “The hurdle she never quite surmounted was having…
