An oracle has predicted the sojourner’s end, which is a problem for Adam insofar as he has never encountered an oracular prediction that didn’t come true…and he is the sojourner. To survive, he’s going to have to figure out what a beautiful ex-government analyst, an eco-terrorist, a rogue FBI agent, and the world’s oldest religious cult all want with him, and fast.

And all he wanted when he came to Vegas was to forget about a girl. And maybe have a drink or two.

The second book in the Immortal series, Hellenic Immortal follows the continuing adventures of Adam, a 60,000-year-old man with a wry sense of humor, a flair for storytelling, and a knack for staying alive. Hellenic Immortal is a clever blend of history, mythology, sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, mystery and romance. A little something, in other words, for every listener.

  1. Deeper than first book A good, light urban fantasy followup to Doucette’s ‘Immortal’. This book is an entertaining read and provides a fascinating view into human psychology of where gods come from and how legends come about with time (hint, don’t skip the chapter prologues and epilogues “as translated and corrected by Ariadne” since they provide some of the most interesting parts of the book)

  2. My new favorite author This is a really good story about a man who has lived for thousands of years, surviving in the modern world with his wits, his humor and his knowledge of other fantastical creatures who are hidden in plain sight. The story reads like a fast paced adventure/mystery so that’s always a fun read… However, I really love the insights into the main character’s memories and perceptions as an outsider looking in. And he’s very funny. You’ll enjoy spending time with him. Unfortunately, I can’t…

  3. Slow at first but picks up nicely — A great read! “Adam” is immortal and isn’t sure how or why. However, he can be hurt or killed through normal means (though he can’t get sick), so he’s spent 30,000 plus years just avoiding trouble and trying to be a nice guy all around. At first, the premise appears lame and uninteresting (no special powers? no real explanations?) but the writer has done a great job with the premise, dialogue and plot. In this sequel(Immortal is the first in the series — you should read this first!), Adam finds himself…
