From the author of the number one best-selling audiobook, Opal Fire, comes a brand new spellbinding trilogy inspired by fairy tale characters.

These are not the mild-mannered maidens of your childhood. These are fallen princesses and fierce women with no recollection of who they are, where they came from, or how they arrived in a mysterious town called Everafter. All they know is that they’ve been sentenced to a stretch in a half-way house by a malicious judge with an ax to grind. They’ve been stripped of their freedom, their kingdoms, and their true loves. Now, they have nothing left to lose.

Snow White is the newest parolee to arrive at Granny’s House for Girls. It isn’t long before she learns that her housemates harbor secrets, and that the mansion itself is a meandering enigma. She stumbles upon forbidden doorways, ghostly passages, and walls that seem to breathe. Determined to find out what’s really happening inside those old walls, Snow embarks on a dangerous discovery mission. Not everyone is thrilled about her nosing around. In fact, there are some who would kill to keep the secrets that the house – and its occupants – hold.

  1. A Surprising Twist on Beloved Fairy Tale Characters What a complete surprise this book was! I thought ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” was a great twist on old fairy tale stories, but “The Bitches of Everafter” took an entirely different turn and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There’s a great mystery woven into this story, with very interesting character development. The villain in “Bitches” is a total surprise and a really delightful, though dark twist.

  2. Not Once I really enjoyed this book. When I first started reading it I thought “Oh, no. Not a Once Upon a Time reboot.” This is far more enjoyable than that! The princesses have amazing attitudes and wonderful quirks. This tie in with the author is brilliant and there is such wonderful relationships between characters I never would have expected. Snow White, Aura Rose, Bella, Cindy, and Punzie had me in stitches and the story kept me captivated. I cannot wait for the second!

  3. and it sounds like it could have some potential Read the precis of this book, and it sounds like it could have some potential. The similarity to the TV show “Once Upon a TIme” is strong, but still, there is potential for some original handling of themes and tone and characterization. However, this book got wearisome very quickly. The book warns we must have a tolerance for “snark”, but it does not tell you that tolerance must amount to a saintly patience for characters bickering like cranky five-year-olds and with no more…
