  1. An Intriguing and tasty tale!! This was a great read! A combination of southern charm, intrigue, romance, family drama. I found myself unhappy to put the book down, and looking forward to the next read. That, to me, is the sign of a truly interesting tale. The spin on cooking and recipes were an added bonus. Clearly, the author understands the south and her food!!

  2. The South Has Risen Again Author Peggy Lampman deftly portrays the intricacies of human relationships encompassing love, loss, ambition, and devotion. Simmer and Smoke makes you smile and wince while nodding your head in apt recognition of life’s journey.

  3. Captivating and Intriguing Story of Southern Culture and Cuisine I live in Chicago and have a midwestern soul, but I’ve always been interested in Southern American culture. I also enjoy infiltrating the strange and unique landscape of new cultures in the books I choose to read. Simmer and Smoke satisfied my cravings (sorry for the pun) on both levels.
