Jason Thorn…my brother’s childhood friend. Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy who made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time – he was the reason for them all. But you get to live in that fairy tale world only until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.
After the stomping part, he became the boy I did my best to stay away from – and let me tell you, it was pretty hard to do when he slept in the room right across from mine. When tragedy struck his family and they moved away, I was ready to forget he ever existed. Now he’s a movie star, the one who makes women of all ages go into a screaming frenzy. Me? I’m Olive, a new writer. Actually, I’m the writer of the book that inspired the movie he is about to star in on the big screen. As of late, I am also referred to as the oh, so very lucky girl who is about to become the wife of Jason Thorn.

Jason and Olive are romance perfection! Jason Thorn is the daydream of every woman in America. He’s one of hottest actors in Hollywood. But to Olive Taylor, he will always be the troubled boy from next door who has tugged on her hair and her heartstrings since she was a little girl. Jason Thorn has been the love of her life for as long as she can remember, even after tragedy took him away from her family years ago. Now he’s back in a BIG way!Â
Did We Read the Same Book? As with the other critical reviews, I’m confused as to this book’s rating. Normally, I finish a book in a few hours–I’ve had this one a couple of days and I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it at all. First, I have to say I love the premise: Girl hasn’t seen childhood crush in years. Girl reconnects with crush due to a bizarre circumstance. Boy and girl realize they love each other. The end.Â
4.5 stars. A sexy, sweet, dreamy (yes dreamy) read This story took me back to the days when I first started reading indie contemporary romances. After years of reading nothing but mainstream best sellers I was amazed and thrilled to find such a wealth of passionate tales that drew me in and let me participate along with the characters. This book is about Olive who has been in love with her brothers best friend Jason since she was 6 years old. Even little Olive was a passionate romantic at heart. Many years later he comes back into her life…
