Consistent with a nursing home resident really helping This appears to be the start of a series about 3 boys raised by a sheriff who rescued them from a fire set by a cult leader, but that is just the back story to an excellent suspense story. The two main characters describe themselves as plodders, putting one foot in front of another, but they are pretty terrific plodders.
