Crown of Lies: Truth and Lies Duet, Book 1

Noelle Charlston lives a fairy-tale life: a doting father, a powerful job, and a future blessed with financial security.

However, two meetings with two men changes her happy existence forever. First, she meets the man who makes her heart sing. Three years later, she meets the man who makes her blood quiver.

Broken-hearted from a teenage romance, Noelle’s freedom is no longer hers. It belongs to the stranger her father believes is her perfect match. The stranger who pulls his lies over everyone he touches.

Including her.

Seduced and manipulated, Noelle gives into the mysterious Penn Everett. The lies he spins, the truth he hides, the mystery he weaves – it’s all enough to slowly erode the woman she is and turn her into something else.

Until her past collides with her present.

And it’s her turn to lie.

To everyone…including herself.

Spellmonger: Spellmonger, Book 1

Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese.

For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Then one night Minalan is forced to pick up his mageblade again to defend his adopted home from the vanguard of an army of goblins – gurvani, they call themselves – bent on a genocidal crusade against all mankind. And that was the good news. The bad news was that their shamans were armed with more magical power than has been seen since the days of the ancient Imperial Magocracy – and their leader, a mysterious, vengeful force of hate and dark magic, is headed directly to Boval Vale, along with a massive invading army of gurvani. The good people of Boval and their spellmonger have only one choice: to hole up in the over-sized Boval Castle and hope they can endure a siege against hundreds of thousands of goblins.

When the people look to him for hope, Minalan does his best, but the odds are depressing: there are multitudes of goblins, and they want Boval Vale as a staging ground for a vengeful invasion of the whole Five Duchies.

Add to his troubles a jealous rival mage, a motley band of mercenaries, a delusional liege lord who insists victory is at hand despite the hordes at his door, a dour castellan, a moody, pregnant girlfriend and a catty ex-girlfriend who specializes in sex magic – all trapped in a stinking, besieged castle with no hope of rescue, and you’ll understand why Minalan is willing to take his chances with the goblins.

All that stands between the gurvani horde and the people of the Five Duchies is one tired, overwhelmed baker’s son who wanted nothing more than to be a simple village spellmonger.

The Sick House: The Ulrich Files, Book 1

Some Places Should Stay Abandoned….

Dr. Siegfried Klein has vanished on a mysterious pilgrimage to an abandoned infirmary in the ghost-town of Moonville. The locals in the surrounding areas are tight-lipped, hostile to outsiders. Local legend has it that the old Sick House is packed with spirits, none of them friendly, and that to set foot in it is to enter Hell itself.

Enter Harlan Ulrich, private investigator and skeptic.

Traveling to the site, the detective begins the long process of separating truth from grisly local myth, and during his investigation stumbles upon certain frightful evidence that tries his nerve. He wants to find the doctor in one piece and weathers the hostilities of the locals even as their stories keep him up at night. But the longer he spends in the ghost town of Moonville, the more he feels the influence of something sinister in the shuttered infirmary.

When finally the truth is revealed and the infirmary’s sordid past comes to light, will Ulrich manage to escape with his life?

The Great Big Love Quote Book: Over 401 Inspirational Quotes on Happiness, Forgiveness, Relationships & More! (The Great Big Quote Books) (Volume 2)

Looking for a great quote to use at a wedding ceremony, to encourage a friend or for a love letter? You’ll find it in The Great Big Love Quote Book. Check out some of the Great Quotes below: “Forgiveness does not mean condoning or agreeing with a horrendous act. It is a decision to no longer attack one’s self. Forgiveness is, quite simply, the decision not to suffer. To forgive is to make the decision to be happy, to let go of judgments, to stop hurting others and ourselves, and to stop recycling anger and fear.” – Gerald Jampolsky – “A healthy relationship is one in which each person is free to be honest with the other, in loving ways. In a healthy relationship, each person’s needs are respected.” – Doreen Virtue – “Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.” – Brian Adams – These are just some of the quotes you will discover in ‘The Great Big Quote Book: Over 401 Inspirational Quotes on Happiness, Forgiveness, Relationships & More!’ Cameron M. Clark will be the first to tell you he is no ‘master’ at Love, but rather an ever-learning student on the subject. In fact, he does mention this fact in the Preface to ‘The Great Big Love Quote Book.’ On the heels of publishing Book 1 of ‘The Great Big Quote Book’ series, Clark has drawn from his collection of thousands of inspirational quotes he’s kept over the years and organized them into over 60 categories related to that mysterious thing called ‘Love.’ However, as he will be first to tell you, Clark thought a book of over 401 quotes on just the subject of Love might be too repetitive, uninspired and a little boring. That’s why he broke up the text and organized it into different categories that he felt applied to the different areas of how Love is applied to strangers, our family members and others with whom we associate on a daily basis. His hope when starting the project was that the reader would feel as though they were reading a story about Love and all of her attributes rather than just a book with a bunch of quotes shoved together randomly. In ‘The Great Big Love Quote Book,’ you’ll find words of Wisdom related to Communication, Compassion, Forgiveness, Honesty, Loss, Self Control, Sincerity, Trust and of course, Love. This makes the book an easily searchable tome for preparing for speeches, talks, wedding & anniversary toasts or just inspiring a friend who is going through a difficult time. In accordance to the quality standards set by Paul St. George Press, Clark was required to choose quotes of substance that actually instructed and/or inspired the reader. This led to the deletion of many sources originally included in the text, because the quotes didn’t really offer much to the conversation about Love. Along with that stringent requirement, Clark was also required to research the credibility of his sources. The last thing he or his publisher wanted to do was include quotations from men and women who either had vapid, superficial advice or lived lives that seemed to contradict said advice. While nobody is perfect, most of the men and women quoted in the following volume lived lives of some accomplishment, some virtue, had something important to say, or all of the above. In a book of more than 401 quotes, Clark was able to draw on the words of famous women and men as Mother Teresa, Francis Bacon, Maya Angelou, Dr. Martin Luther King, Dr. Phil McGraw, Brian Tracy and Atul Gawande. Lesser-known, but people with just as important things to say about the subject include Doreen Virtue, M. Scott Peck, Gerald Jampolsky and George MacDonald. Of course, ancient philosophers and teachers such as Confucius, the Buddha, Cicero and others were not left out. Enjoy!

An Accidental Death: A DC Smith Investigation Series, Book 1

The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so. The latest trainee detective to work with him is the son of a member of his former team, and together they begin to unravel the truth about what happened to Wayne Fletcher. As the investigation proceeds, it becomes clear that others are involved – some seem determined to prevent it, some seem to be taking too much interest. In the end, Smith operates alone, having stepped too far outside standard procedures to ask for support. He knows that his own life might be at risk but he has not calculated on the life of his young assistant also being put in danger.
