They are the legal world’s oddest couple: a shorts-and-sandals beach bum and a Coral Gables blue blood. The only thing keeping them together is that they’re on the same side.
Why does an ex-client want to kill Steve Solomon? Who doesn’t want to kill a lawyer? Still, a 300-pound marlin stuck in your front door is a weird death threat, even by south Florida standards. How can Steve Solomon explain to his partner why an ex-client wants him dead? When Victoria Lord learns the reason, she’s angry enough to murder her law partner, too, or at least break up Solomon & Lord.
But while a psychopathic ex-con comes between the squabbling Miami lawyers, his real target catches them both off guard.
A different, darker entry At 352 pages, Kill All the Lawyers is the shortest Solomon vs. Lord book, but like the other two, it is expertly paced. I don’t think it could get more harrowing, with “Dr. Bill” Kreeger turning Steve’s every good intention against him in a bid to tear apart his life with Victoria and Bobby. One mark of great characters is the range of stories they allow you to tell, from lightly comedic to absolutely grave. I’m right there with them.
Great Title! I was so looking forward to reading this, since the previous two in the series were enjoyable. Maybe it was just me this time, but the bad guy being a pedophile could not make me laugh – at all. Murder apparently doesn’t bother me, but this vile act does. Also, the bickering between Solomon and Lord got a bit tired for me. The jokes and t-shirts are still worth it and maybe I just don’t want to see Bobby grow up? If there is another in the series, I will for sure read it with fingers…
This was a make-or-break book for me. This was a make-or-break book for me. Either I was going to continue with the series or give up on it entirely.Â
