A Great Way To Learn The Basics To start out, I’d like to say that I have wanted to learn a new language for a long time. I’ve taken 4 years of Spanish in High School, however that was quite some time ago! I also took a year of French. I have wanted to brush up on my Spanish and this seemed like the way to go. I could pop a CD in the car and learn while I’m driving to and from work (which is 45 minutes or so each way).
Great Way To Learn! I took Spanish class for 2 years in high school, but after graduating, I seemed to forget everything that I had learned. I really only remembered a few things. I was always interested in picking it back up again and refreshing my memory. Pimsleur Approach really helped me do just that!
So far it’s better than classes. I’m half Puerto Rican, so it’s kind of expected of me to speak Spanish. Unfortunately, even though my parents are fluent, I am not. I had Spanish classes throughout high school but comparing it to what I’ve heard at home and at family functions it just didn’t sound the same. I understand it OK, but I never had the confidence to actually speak it in front of people who speak it well, family or not! I have not completed the whole course, I’m still in the beginning, so I will have to update this…
