This book integrates theory and research in motivation and applies them to classroom practice. This book gives readers a thorough understanding of motivation theories that can be applied to the needs of their students. Teachers can use these research-based theories to develop problem-solving skills in a range of educational contexts. The focus is on classroom learning, but attention is also given to how strategies used to motivate students in schools affect their motivation to participate in intellectual activities outside of school. For educators at all grade levels.
great book The book was very clear and practical. It provided the theory behind the recommendations for practice, but also very useful suggestions for improving students motivation. A great book for teachers.
Excellent resource! This book is easy to read but loaded with contemporary theories of motivation. Having fictional students to illustrate theory and intervention is excellent. A couple of chapters also summarizes important concepts in motivation for easy reference. Overall, an excellent resource as a textbook for university classes and/or reference for practicing professionals. I use it in my graduate class on learning and motivation.
