How to Walk Away: A Novel

From the author of Happiness for Beginners comes an unforgettable audiobook about finding joy even in the darkest of circumstances.

Margaret Jacobsen is just about to step into the bright future she’s worked for so hard and so long: a new dream job, a fiancé she adores, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in a brief, tumultuous moment. In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Maggie must confront the unthinkable. First there is her fiancé, Chip, who wallows in self-pity while simultaneously expecting to be forgiven. Then, there’s her sister Kit, who shows up after pulling a three-year vanishing act. Finally, there’s Ian, her physical therapist, the one the nurses said was too tough for her. Ian, who won’t let her give in to her pity and who sees her like no one has seen her before.

Sometimes the last thing you want is the one thing you need. Sometimes we all need someone to catch us when we fall. And sometimes love can find us in the least likely place we would ever expect.

How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best – a masterpiece of an audiobook that is both hopeful and hilarious, truthful and wise, tender and brave.

30 Days of Inspiration and Hope: Daily Devotionals for Your Christian Walk

I invite you to join me for the next 30 days on a journey filled with hope. As you read this book, my desire is that you will develop a closer walk with Jesus Christ and a greater understanding of His love for you. I believe that the more in step we are with our Savior, the more our days will be filled with hope and our actions will be inspired by grace. These devotionals cover topics such as peace, strength, direction, courage, passion, provision, and acceptance. I use stories and illustrations to paint a clear picture of how God’s amazing grace can be applied to different areas of life. No matter what you are going through, there is a hope for your tomorrow that can only be found in the truth of God’s Word and in a relationship with Him. Raise your hopes with me as we walk through the next 30 days together. FROM THE BACK COVER: Walk with Hope. Walk with Inspiration. Walk with Jesus. The Word of God promises us that we can have hope even in the hardest of times. We get to claim this promise by abiding in Christ. However, how often do we look for hope in our circumstances instead of in Jesus? My prayer is that as you read this book, you will get to know Him on a more personal level and allow His love and His Spirit to renew your strength. I believe that with Jesus, there is always hope. Walk into Silence

A woman vanishes from a Texas town. Did she simply run off, or is something darker at play?

When Patrick Dielman shows up at Detective Jo Larsen’s desk insisting that his wife, Jenny, is missing, Jo wonders if it’s a case of a bored housewife running away.

But as she digs deeper into Jenny’s life, Jo learns that Dielman keeps a stranglehold on the family finances, down to the last nickel, and that Jenny’s first marriage dissolved following the death of her young son. By all accounts – including her doctor’s – she never recovered from the loss. Between a controlling husband, a tragic past, and a callous ex-husband, Jo can’t be sure if she should suspect foul play or accept that the woman may have wanted to disappear.

For Jo, whose own demons are shadowing her every step, finding Jenny becomes more than the typical protect-and-serve.

The Walk Up Nameless Ridge

Jonathan Davis is the perfect narrator for the main character of this audiobook, a man dead set on fame and glory. Davis narrates the protagonist’s dark thoughts with harsh cadences that jut out of a usually cold and deadpan voice. The Walk up Nameless Ridge is science fiction, set on the remote planet Eno, where a mountain twice the height of Everest remains to be climbed. Listeners will be on the edge of their seats as our protagonist’s insatiable appetite for stardom lets him stop at nothing – not even murder – to conquer this mountain. The audiobook is both a gripping adventure and an acute look at what kind of evil men are capable of.
