  1. Not what I expected This is my first time reading a book about positive thinking and I must say this is not what I expected. I thought that the author will give you bouts of encouraging statements, pieces of advice about how to be optimistic in times of distress, and others like that, but instead, you’ll get realization on why things work a certain way and why YOU should be in control of what you are thinking and feeling.   2. I can’t recommend this book enough. It literally changed my life. I’ve struggled with negative self-talk for years and I know it is something that has held me back from getting the kind of jobs I want, making the kind of friends I’d like to have, and just from living the life I would like to live.
