‘These powerful heart-rending stories are filled with honesty, humor, hope and offer inspiration to parents, teachers, and anyone else who cares for children with special needs. By embracing the magnificence, inner peace, and beauty each child possess, our own attitudes are shifted from despair to promise.’

Most important, through these stories, you will be guided with the wisdom of fellow parents, caregivers, and those with special needs to help you be the very best parent or caregiver you can be.
A must read If you have a special needs child in your family, are friends with someone with a special needs child, or just want to expand your understanding, this book is a must – read.I think it would be a very good book for younger persons to read as well, especially those without firsthand knowledge or experience with children or other youngsters with special needs.
Deborah Rose, Chicken Soup Contributor and Educational Director for NAMI TX Yes, one of my stories is featured in this book. But that is not the reason I am writing here. After reading the other stories, I realized what an honor and privilege it is to be included in such outstanding company as the other contributing authors. The courage, the compassion, the insight and determination inspire me for those “bad” days that I know will continue to happen and remind me that a day is just a day and not a lifetime. I first encountered Chicken Soup and it’s inspiration when I attended my first IBI Conference in Ca. a few years ago. There,I met and was coached by Lisa Nichols, another Chicken Soup author and I knew that inspiration was always at hand if I could be around people like Lisa. Also, it was a wonderful opportunity to speak out about mental illness and it’s affect on our children. So please, read this book and let it touch it in a very special way. It’s just real people, telling their story.
