From the award-winning author of Writing the Divine comes a spiritual guidebook of attainable lessons and exercises to teach you how to engage in direct connection with the Universe and live a soulful life.
How can I live authentically? What is my life’s purpose? How can I tap into my soul’s wisdom? How can I receive Divine guidance?
To learn the answers to these questions, gifted intuitive, visionary teacher, and author Sara Wiseman gives you Messages from the Divine. Timeless and affirming, the lessons in this book will teach you the secrets of how to live from your soul’s wisdom and awaken to your true life’s path. And by living a soul-led life, you move from confusion, fear, and feeling unfulfilled to a life that is open, original, and profoundly meaningful.
After a harrowing near death experience that resulted in a sudden opening of consciousness, Sara’s spiritual understanding expanded, and she began to see “beyond the veil” and receive messages from spirit guides. It is from this process of Divine receiving that the lessons in this book were transmitted and transcribed.
Each of the lessons ends with a brief exercise—an easy-to-do practice, mediation, or reflection to help anchor the teaching—along with a short collection of anecdotes from the author’s life. Lyrical in style and meditative in experience, Messages from the Divine will inspire, empower, and awaken your soul and Sara’s writing “helps us slow down, feel into the moment, and find our Big Self everywhere” (Penney Peirce, author of The Intuitive Way).

Black Woman, Just Get Your Hair Wet!: Self-Empowerment to Reach Your Divine Potential
When’s the last time you got your hair wet? Not while in the shower or at a beauty salon. I’m not even talking about the last time you went swimming. What I’m referring to is a metaphor for life. A metaphor for all those things we don’t do because it’s just one of those things Black Woman don’t do. Like getting help for depression. Because of the self-imposed limitations, I put on myself as a Black Woman, I had to learn some life lessons the hard way and more importantly delayed my potential. That’s why I wrote this book. Whether you struggle with your self-image, faith, finances, branding or relationships (and who hasn’t struggled with those at some point?!), I’m hoping that this book will show you where you may have been “scared to get your hair wet” in the sense of stepping out, diving in and reaching your divine potential. It is a self-discovery guide to unlearn old habits, break down barriers and acknowledge the powerful influence you have on others for today’s black women. So, take out a weekend. Read a couple of chapters. Look within and challenge yourself with the journal that I’ve enclosed and let’s all GET OUR HAIR WET—for our sake, our daughters and also to help other sistahs do the same!
The Divine Inspiration of the Bible
Christianity is the religion of a book. Christianity is based upon the “God-breathed” Holy Scriptures. Any discussion about doctrine or theology must begin here. To deny the authority of the Bible is to deny the very Word of God. The importance of the Bible, then, cannot be overstated. The author shows the fundamental importance of trusting in the reliability of the Bible and how it must be defended at all cost.
Divine Inspiration: The Life of Jesus in World Poetry
The Bible is by far the leading source of inspiration for Western literature, and in particular, the life of Jesus has drawn the attention of artists and writers throughout the ages. Now, in a volume of astonishing range and originality, Robert Atwan, George Dardess, and Peggy Rosenthal present 280 remarkable poems from world literature focusing on Jesus’s life and teaching.
Readers accustomed to the predictable inclusions of many anthologies will be surprised and delighted by the diversity of poets represented here, from Aquinas, Dante, de Guevara, Donne, and Sor Juana, to D.H. Lawrence, Gabriela Mistral, Wole Soyinka, Margaret Atwood, Gwendolyn Brooks, Czeslaw Milosz, and Leopold Senghor. Perhaps no other thematically organized anthology could have brought together writers as different as Jorge Luis Borges, Thomas Merton, Alice Walker, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Jack Kerouac. Indeed, simply to turn the page in Divine Inspiration is an adventure in itself. And in terms of form, style, modulations of tone and perspective, the variety here is as unparalleled as it is unpredictable.
The editors of Divine Inspiration have done a masterful job of unifying this vast assortment of poems. Organized chronologically around the life of Jesus, the book is divided into nine sections–from Birth and Infancy, through Healings and Miracles, to the Resurrection– and presents passages from the Gospels followed by the poems they inspired. This structure gives readers the dual pleasures of a strong narrative pull punctuated by moments of lyric intensity. Our familiarity with the life of Jesus is thus enlivened, deepened, and in some cases wholly transformed by the imaginative power of the poems. In the largest section of the book, on the Passion of Jesus, we find an array of poems by Anna Akhmatova, Antonio Machado, Thomas Hardy, Miguel de Unamuno, Charles Baudelaire, R.S. Thomas, Andrew Marvell, Frederico Garcia Lorca, and Denise Levertov, among others. To see the Passion of Jesus refracted through the lenses of such poets is to see it anew, or more vividly than before. And to encounter Chinese, Korean, Nigerian, Arab, Latin American, Scandinavian, Hungarian, and Greek poets alongside English, French, and German is a testimony both to the editors’ devoted scholarship and to the power of Jesus’s life to inspire great poetry across a spectrum of cultures and eras.
An invaluable sourcebook for students, scholars, and general readers alike, Divine Inspiration should prove equally satisfying to readers with a strong interest in religion and to all lovers of poetry.
