Miller of the Clutter-Free Life began a monthly newsletter, the Clutter Coach Success Secrets, for her clients and the people who attended her speeches and classes. She wanted to inspire and motivate them to keep working on their clutter. And she was frustrated with the endless flow of publicity on the use of bins and baskets which just create more stuff! She wanted to provide real solutions that anyone could implement. Solutions that would lead to life-long habits that create and maintain a clutter-free life. People with clutter are often perfectionists and procrastinators. Hence, the numerous admonitions to bypass perfectionism and prompts to take immediate action! This book is a compilation of her best insight into the causes of clutter and her most practical advice on how to deal with it. It’s divided into five sections. The first is a month-by-month journey through one year. Start in the current month and do the exercises for each month. A year from now, you’ll have less clutter and the skills to maintain a clutter-free life. The second section is two short stories about two co-workers from different backgrounds and their approaches to work-related events. The third and fourth sections are newsletters that represent the two ways to deal with clutter: change your mind about your belongings and change your behavior with respect to your belongings. The final section is a tribute to her mother who is largely responsible for her clutter-free life habits and attitudes. Start anywhere in the book.
