The World Is Waiting For You (Barbara Kerley Photo Inspirations)

“A stirring invitation to leap, dive, soar, plunge and thrill to the natural world’s wonders and glories.” –Kirkus Reviews STARRED REVIEW

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a question kids get asked over and over. But very few connections are made for kids between the present and the future. This book shows kids a pathway from their current interests and talents to a future career or interest. And in so doing, it also encourages adventure, exploration, and discovery, three core principles of National Geographic’s mission. It’s a celebration of possibility–so simple and so profound.

Jumping in puddles can inspire scuba diving. Dirty hands can lead to dinosaur bones! Backyard star-gazing inspires future astronauts. Perfectly selected photos make the connections compelling and the future real for kids, then rich back matter brings the message home with inspirational quotes from the real-life adventurers pictured in the images. Grown-ups won’t be able to resist sharing this inspirational message with kids, and kids won’t be able to resist the invitation to let their imaginations run wild.

Elbert Hubbard: A Treasury of Insights, Inspirations, and Provocations

Illuminating America’s Forgotten Sage

An anthology of Elbert Hubbard’s most insightful, inspiring, and provocative writings, edited and introduced by Sam Torode.

Henry Ford said:

“Elbert Hubbard’s writings and his famous experiment in book making at East Aurora made him one of the most interesting American characters of his time. He had a rare faculty of expression and he used it to serve the cause of common sense in this country.
“Hubbard demonstrated the power of an idea when conceived by an independent mind and supported by intelligent industry. His Roycroft Shop became a place of pilgrimage to men and women who were interested in handicrafts and who dreamed of a greater idealization of common life.
“I visited him at East Aurora and was a reader of his publications from the start. Elbert Hubbard deserves a permanent place in our libraries.”

Chicken Soup for the Fuck You: Inspirations, Observations, and Character Assassinations

“Chicken Soup for the Fuck You” is spit straight from the hyperactive brain of a lifelong oddball who has, to put it simply, seen some shit. In the process of finding her voice after a decade and a half of quiet, April Fox puts a wry spin on politics, religion, and the weird and wonderful aspects of real life, including parenting a herd of eclectic children. In between, there are periods of darkness, and those are reflected here too. In short, “Chicken Soup for the Fuck You” is a feel-good book for people who hate feel-good books. April’s work has been described as “Intoxicating… Awesome, inspiring, and resonating all the way.” “…a huge dose of reality.” “Enigmatic and thought-provoking, but still touching.” “…filthy.”
